THREE WAYS YOU CAN HELP THIS WEEKEND to make wholesome local food more accessible throughout our community:

Growler Gardening – Friday, Aug 24, 5p-7p … It’s simple: you weed; we share locally brewed beer with you. This new-farmer incubator & teaching garden is located at theClubhou.se, 540 Telfair, Augusta. Text Kim at 706-288-7895 for more info.

Muscadine Gleaning – Saturday, Aug 25, 8:30am-12noon .. volunteers needed to harvest or “glean” a beautiful variety of muscadine grapes to donate to local food pantries. The farm is in Louisville, GA. For more info call Sandi at 229-386-3800. Sign the volunteer waiver online: www.endhunger/register.

Garden Work Day – Saturday, Aug 25, 5p-8p … join folks at the Golden Harvest Food Bank to prepare this big kitchen garden for fall planting! Located at The Master’s Table Soup Kitchen on Fenwick Street in downtown Augusta.

Thank you for your continued support of local farmers and local food food initiatives.

National Farmers Market Week is Aug 5-11 and we are excited to celebrate at all three of our market locations this Tuesday!

When you get to the market this week, ask for an “I Love Farmers Markets” temporary tattoo, stick in on, and take a clever photo of you or your loved one showing it off!

Text your photo to 706-288-7895 by Friday, Aug 10. The top three winners (chosen by a handful of our board members) will be announced on Aug 11, and each will receive a $25 ALG gift certificate.

We’ll be celebrating in a number of ways this coming week, and thank you in advance for being a part of it all by supporting your local farmers through this markets every week.

See you there!
Cheers!
Kim
