Augusta Locally Grown will host a local foods education display and children’s activities at the Gateway Center’s first annual “Green Life Expo" in Grovetown this weekend. (They changed the name just this week from Green & Gourmet.) Admission is free. Thank you in advance to all our great helpers: Graham, Branden, Lauren, Shawn, Amy, Patrick, Amy, Bri, Kyong, Aarish, Mclain, Jackson, Alexis, Daniel and Toni. The event is coordinated by Beasley Broadcasting.

HOBBY FARMERS CORNER
AT THE COLUMBUS DAY CELEBRATIONS IN COLUMBIA COUNTY
This is our second annual Hobby Farmer Corner, promoting the skills of growing your own food. Located at the Lady Antebellum Towne Park in Evans, this event is hosted in partnership with the new Savannah River Grange organization. Admission is free. Thanks to volunteer Carly for running our booth!

Closing Day! Our children’s activity theme will be “Goats Milk” and we’ll be felting natural goat fibers onto goats milk soap from Hard Earth Farm. Come meet and support your local farmers!

BENDERDIGGER WRAP UP
We’ll be wrapping up our fall youth gardening classes for the season at the River Island Project. Our harvest dinner will be planned for later in November.

VEGGIE TRUCK FARMERS MARKET
Closing Day! Come out to the Veggie Truck Farmers Market in Harrisburg on closing day and enjoy a $1 grass-fed burger, provided by Tink’s Grass-Fed Beef of Washington, GA. Top it with grilled onions, peppers and even eggplant. The Veggie Truck Farmers Market is located at the St. Luke UMC Church at 309 Crawford Avenue in Augusta. We double the value of SNAP/food stamps for purchases made from local farmers. 4:30pm-7pm.

SAT, NOV 2:
Augusta Locally Grown will provide a kids cooking activity at the Junior League’s “Kids in the Kitchen” event at the Kroc Center of Augusta on Sat, Nov 9. Volunteers are welcome to help. Our demo is at 9:30am.

URBAN GARDENING EDUCATION TOUR & PICNIC AT LEGACY GARDENS IN EVANS
Come learn about sustainable vegetable gardening in one of Columbia County’s most impressive urban gardens. Father and son team, Steve and David Gianino, will share their years of wisdom and formal training in growing organic vegetables and fruits in their modestly sized backyard. Your $10 ticket includes a deeply informative tour and a light meal of soup, bread and salad, right from the garden. Space is limited; only a few tickets left!

SUN. NOV 10
HOLIDAY SPIRITS WORKSHOP AND ROADTRIP! Join us for a holiday spirit making workshop at the Homestead in Atlanta. A minimum of four participants will ensure a fun roadtrip! Cost is $55. Text Kim if you’re interested: 706-288-7895.
