SAT, MAR 5 – GARDEN WORKDAY AT THE CLUBHOU.SE – Come meet the folks at the Clubhou.se, help them with their community garden, and meet the urban farmers who make it happen. Starting at 9am. Call Angel at 706-750-3623 if you can help!

SUN, MAR 6 – FARM TO TABLE ON FENWICK STREET – We’ll create and share a 100-person community meal with our GROW Harrisburg neighbors. Volunteer medical students from MCG will cook local, seasonal, healthy recipes all weekend in preparation. Menu planned by Angel Veggies; meal sponsored by Good Neighbor Ministries; event hosted at the Icebox Urban Farm. Thanks to all provided for this occasion!

MON, MAR 7 – USCA LOCAL FOOD MOVEMENT STUDY – The Anthropology Department at the University of South Caroline at Aiken will begin an in-depth research project of our burgeoning local foods movement in the CSRA. Please contact Anna Logan at alogan94@gmail.com if you’re a local foods activist and would like to do an interview.

WED, MAR 9 – ALG will share news about the local foods movement with the Garden Arts Club in Evans.

WED, MAR 9 – WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS AT RED CLAY MARKET: “SMOKING MEATS” – Patrick Sutter, local foods enthusiastic and bbq competitor, will share his love for home-smoked, local meats. Free, sponsored by Augusta Locally Grown, 5pm-6:30pm. Address is 4460 Washington Road, Evans.

MON, MAR 14 – “CRACK OF DAWN,” WALK-TO-SCHOOL OUTDOOR EGG BREAKFAST FOR KIDS – Yet another lovely thing going on at Icebox Ministries Urban Farm as part of our G.R.O.W. Harrisburg initiatives! Outdoor cooks making healthy egg breakfast for kids on their way to school.

WED, MAR 16 – WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS AT RED CLAY MARKET: “VEGGIE FERMENTATION” – Tasha Alison of Icebox Ministries will teach a class in beginner fermentation. Come learn why gut health is so crucial to overall health. Free, sponsored by Augusta Locally Grown, 5pm-6:3pm. Address is 4460 Washington Road, Evans.

SAT, SUN, MAR 19 & 20 – WHITE HILLS FARM HOSTS “A WEEKEND OF DRAWING AND PAINTING EN PLEIN AIR” – What a unique way to enjoy spring’s plentiful gifts. WED, MAR 23 – WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS AT RED CLAY MARKET: “NATURAL EGG DYING AND DECORATING” – Urban chicken farmer Toni O’Quinn will lead us through the fun use of natural ingredients to dye and decorate local eggs, just in time for Easter. WED, MAR 23 – BRANDON WILDE HEALTH EXPOALG will host an educational booth at this lovely senior living community in Evans. Big thanks to fabulous fiber farmer Pam Avrett of Hard Earth Farm/Southern Made for pulling that together and to rockstar dietitian Tracey Neely for inviting us.
