The Butchery – or “Boucherie” in French – is an age-old tradition. Friends, neighbors and family members gather to help butcher livestock and preserve meat in the fall, assuring that all parts of the animals are used for sustenance.

CARDIO ON THE CANALFEBRUARY 9
Augusta Locally Grown, Addersons Fresh Produce and The Veggie Truck will join together at an educational booth promoting and selling locally grown veggies at this free Kroc Center event, this Saturday, February 9. Activities start at 9:30am. Kim Beavers of “Eating Well with Kim” (also a fantastic champion of ALG!) will host a healthy cooking expo at 11am.  See you at the Kroc!

 

EVANS TOWNE FARMERS MARKETSTARTS MARCH 7
The Evans Towne Farmers Market starts one month from now! We have thousands of beautiful promotional postcards to get out into the Columbia County community. If you’d be willing to take a bundle to your office, school, church or club, please let us know! We can give them to you at pick-up on Tuesdays, or we can drop them off for you. CROP MOB AT EAST GEORGIA PRODUCEMARCH 9
The volunteer list is growing strong! We’re up to 30+ workers and growing … and Patrick has just been volunteered to smoke the picnic ham!!!
Join us for our first-ever “Crop Mob Augusta” volunteer farm day on March 9, at East Georgia Produce in Bartow. The work starts at 12:30pm; the farm picnic starts at 5:30pm.
