The Butchery – or “Boucherie” in French – is an age-old tradition. Friends, neighbors and family members gather to help butcher livestock and preserve meat in the fall, assuring that all parts of the animals are used for sustenance.

This will be a not to be missed event!

OUR 2013 GIFT TO YOU!
Augusta Locally Grown has partnered with several community groups to create the EVANS TOWNE FARMERS MARKET, March-June on Thursday evenings in Evans. Check out the new website at www.evanstownefarmersmarket.com.

Don’t worry: Our on-line market will remain as-is in 2013. Tuesday nights, year-round, steady and strong.

LOCALLY GROWN GIFT BAZAAR!
Our last gift bazaar of the season will be held this Tuesday at the AJCC from 3:30-5:30pm. What a great opportunity to pick up some thoughtful, last-minute goodies for family, friend and colleagues.

SPECIAL HOLIDAY MARKETFRI, DEC 28
NO market on December 25, Christmas Day
NO market on January 1, New Years Day
YES market on Friday, December 28, at the AJCC only, from 4pm-6pm.

No Downtown or Riverwood pick-ups will be available on December 28.

The market will open on-line to take orders on Sunday, Dec 23 through Wednesday, Dec 26.

This will be a minimalist market as several of our farmers will close for the holidays and won’t participate on Dec 28. Trail Ridge Farm says “Stock up on goat cheese now! It freezes well!”

WELCOME SPARTA IMPERIAL MUSHROOMS!
A big welcome to Jonathan Tescher of Sparta Imperial Mushrooms. Jonathan started his mushroom farm this year in the heart of Sparta, GA, after several years as a busy staff member at Georgia Organics. We welcome him into the fold with hopes that his products and his passion will help move Augusta’s local food movement forward!

WELCOME BACK THREE CENTURIES FARM AND ELM STREET GARDENS!
These sustainable farmers of Sparta, acting as a collective unit of support for one another, have returned to Augusta! Such good news.
