Elm Street Gardens
Elm Street Gardens is a 2 – acre vegetable garden located behind a historic house in Sparta, Georgia. The gardens started in 2004 as an experiment to see if we could grow and eat everything we would need throughout the year. We grow a diverse array of vegetable and fruit crops year round using a no-till method in our outdoor beds, hoop houses, and seed house. This past year we added a shade house for growing shitake mushrooms.
We never use any fertilizers or chemicals on our property and abide by organic standards to grow our produce. Every year the soil in our gardens improves, and we can not only see the difference but taste it as well. The health of our soil directly impacts both the health of our plants and ourselves. Quality and taste are our driving forces. We think you’ll agree.
